Un niño vence al cáncer y su celebración conmueve en Facebook

I spoke to the family that donated the bell that Jimmy rang last Thursday at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh to signify his last chemotherapy treatment of the year. When I originally read the plaque next to it I kind of welled up inside, it pulled all those tough emotions right out of me. It read, "The sound that you hear as it rings true and loud is of courage and strength that makes me feel proud. Those around me helped me battle all day and all night. I hope others hear this bell and continue to fight!!" Drue Storm and Family donated the bell cause they want all the children and families "to feel the joy we have," his mom Ann said as we spoke tonight. As we shared our love and gratitude for one another's families, something I find so easily happens when you go through a child being ill. She said, "Nothing can be as freeing as seeing your child get better. What better way than to ring in a new start." Drue had his own battle, three years of treatments and has finished. He goes for monthly checkup's every three months. Ann says how blessed they are and I can't help but to feel and celebrate her joy with her. What an incredible family and I am eternally grateful to them. I thanked her over and over for donating the bell and making that moment possible for us. Honestly, if it wasn't for the Storm Family's thoughtfulness and generosity we never would have had that moment to share with the world. Ann wrote, "thank you for letting us see that it does make a difference. Our hearts are so full." It's was a beautiful interaction. I had to share it because one small thing you do, whether it's share your story, donate to a cause or donate something as simple as a bell....can impact the world. -You were born to do this! ❤
