People´s Choice Awards abren mañana la temporada de premios en EE.UU.

La edición 36 de People"s Choice Awards se realizará mañana y la película Twilight (Crepúsculo) es una de las favoritas. Kris Allen, de American Idol, anunció esta mañana a los nominados, que también incluyen gran cantidad de nominaciones por La propuesta (The Proposal) pero, por cierto, el favorito de todos es la historia de amor de los chupasangre que figura en muchas categorías, incluyendo equipo favorito en pantalla de cine.

Los  People"s Choice Awards es una entrega de premios que reconoce a la gente y el trabajo de la cultura popular. El espectáculo se ha celebrado anualmente desde 1975 y es votado por el público en general.

El creador del show, Bob Stivers produjo el primer espectáculo en 1975. Los premios reconocieron por primera vez a El golpe (The Swing) como película favorita de 1974, Barbra Streisand, como actriz del año, y John Wayne como actor favorito de cine.

Las votaciones para el evento anual alcanzó su pico máximo en 1977, cuando los People"s Choice Awards atrajo a 35,3 millones de espectadores que vieron ganar a Farrah Fawcett-Majors la categoría de estrella femenina favorita de la TV Star, a La Guerra de las Galaxias (Star Wars) como película preferida, y a Streisand y a Wayne ganar de nuevo en las categorías de actriz y actor de películas ese año.
